I cleaned the area as well as I could and lightly sanded the whole surface, both the shallow indents and the higher areas.
the lengths and widths of each strip noting exactly how deep the indents
are and allowing both for a 10mm overlap on each side of the indent
and for Sikaflex bedding and approached a Boatwright by the name of
Ian Bowles who specialises in teak decks and is based at Baltic Wharf
in Totnes. He kindly machined each up for me which was a delicate job
and required absolute accuracy.
final job was to oil the wood and there you have it.
