These
pictures come from Marilyn Packer, Mississippi, USA. The first two
show deck cracks in her Hurley 18 which became slightly bigger when
the mast was stepped. The other pictures show the compression post
made by the local boatyard. The one showing an attachment to the
post is actually to give the hatch some further support if one is
