The GEORGE HURLEY MEMORIAL TROPHY was generously donated by George Hurley’s older daughter Mrs Margret Miller on the event of the 50th Anniversary of the start of production of those boats in Plymouth. It was celebrated with a large rally in Plymouth in July 2016 and the unveiling of a plaque on the site of the original factory by Mrs Marion Hurley and her family. The Trophy is awarded for exemplary volunteer service to the HOA.

John Udy has kindly handed over to Nick Vass a number of silver trophies (see below). All are from the old Hurley 22 Rracing Association on the River Plym from 1979 to to the late eighties.

From left to right, the South Coast Marine Trophy, the Designers Rose Bowl (presented by Ian Anderson) and theJack Marsh Cup. The following vessels have won the above trophies - presumably all Hurley 22’s: Kimbo, Flamingo, Spirit of Friendship, Selina, Chicken George, Turnstone, Shaz-Suz, Evita, Lulou, Santoy, Whippoorwill, Millennium. The Committee is going to consider how they might be awarded nowadays - perhaps for achievements related to our annual rallies.
